R.I.P.

After more than six years of faithful service, my cable modem, a Motorola CyberSurfer, has finally died. It's been through a lot, it started out at 512 kbps (2000) and bowed out at 8.0 mbps (Nov. 26, 2006).

I had my reservations with it's younger and sexier sibling, the Motorola SurfBoard, at first. It scored poorly at 128 kbps when the cable guys hooked it up for the first time. After they tweaked a few settings on their end, it is now zipping happily along at 3 mbps. Perhaps it'll break the 5 mbps mark after a few calls to my ISP...

Brass balls... *not*

A spokesman for the Drilon faction of the Liberal Party has announced that they are pleased with the TRO handed down by the Supreme Court. He goes on to say, "We are ready for a fight. We will not back down."
